About the Author
Dr. Rehan Aziz, a New Jersey native, earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School before completing his internship and residency in psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, and fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He holds board certifications in psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and behavioral neurology/neuropsychiatry. Currently, Dr. Aziz serves as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in Nutley, NJ, and is the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Program and Associate Program Director for the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. A frequent presenter at national meetings for organizations like the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP), his work has appeared in numerous academic medical journals, and he has been quoted by prominent outlets such as Forbes, Fox News, Medical News Today, Medscape, TIME Magazine, U.S. News & World Report, and WebMD. Additionally, he is a member of the editorial board for The Carlat Geriatric Psychiatry Report and has been recognized with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a nomination to the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and three teaching awards.
